NEWS RELEASE Thermoflow Introduces GTeye, an Easy-To Use Gas Turbine Monitoring System to Help Operators with Technical and Economic DecisionsORLANDO, FL (December 4, 1996) - GTeye, an easy-to-use, on-line, real-time gas turbine performance monitoring system which enables gas turbine operators to improve their technical and economic decision-making, is being introduced by Thermoflow, Inc. at Power Gen '96 International. Available for under $10,000, GTeye accurately tracks current and historic technical and financial performance of a gas turbine. Whether it is monitoring a peaking unit or a base-loaded machine in combined-cycle, GTeye indicates how well the gas turbine is performing and how to best handle routine maintenance tasks. Overall performance monitoring includes heat rate, power capacity, emissions levels and on-line heat balance. "Previous monitoring programs have been overly complex and the bottom line has been obfuscated by unnecessary details", said Dr. Maher Elmasri, president of Thermoflow. "With GTeye, we have designed a program that gets to the meaningful bottom line in the simplest, most direct route." Key features and benefits of the GTeye system include:
Running on an easy-to-use Windows interface, GTeye is built around industry standard software and hardware specifications to ensure reliable, inexpensive connections to all major DCS types. All configuration data, on-line input data, and monitoring results are stored in standard database files for easy interaction with other software. Thermoflow, based in Wellesley, MA, has been developing PC-based software for the design and simulation of thermal power plants since 1987. Thermoflow's family of application-specific products include GT PRO and GT MASTER for gas turbine-based plants. and STEAM PRO and STEAM MASTER for steam power plants. GT PRO is the most widely used program of its type in the world, with 800 users at about 400 sites in 43 countries. In addition to application-specific products, Thermoflow also offers THERMOFLEX, a fully flexible design system. Besides standard software products, Thermoflow provides custom programs for on-line or off-line simulation, monitoring and optimization of power and cogeneration plants. The company also provides consulting services for design and evaluation of power and congeneration systems. To serve its European clients, a sister company, Thermoflow Ltd., was formed in 1992 with offices in Gloucester, U.K. |
