Registration File Download Help
The REGISTRATION file you need is ready for download. These instructions outline in detail the steps you should take to download this file.
Step 1. Right-click the big 'X' and choose Save Target As...
The file you need is linked to the big underlined letter 'X' located to the right of the instructions. This file is a simple text file so you have to take care to download it correctly. Unfortunately, the default response to simply clicking this link is NOT what you want to do. 1A. Using the right mouse button, click the blue 'X' located beside the instructions. That will summon a drop-down menu as shown to the right.
1B. Select the Save Target As... option from the drop-down menu to invoke the Save As dialog box shown below.
Most common mistake for Step 1.
The most common mistake is to click the big 'X' with the left-side mouse button. Because the link points to a simple text file, left-clicks tell the browser to display the file contents. So, in this case, you'll get a browser window filled with a seemingly random series of letters and numbers as shown below. This is not what you want. If this happens, click the 'Back' button in your browser to return to the previous screen where you can click the big 'X' using the right-side mouse button.
Step 2. Save the registration file on your computer.
You use the dialog box shown below to save the registration file (TF1600.txt) on your computer. This file should ultimately be saved in the main program installation directory, but you may choose another location such as a removable drive for now if needed.
Click the 'Save' button to download the file to the chosen destination on your computer.
Step 3. Start a licensed program, GTPRO for example, to finish.
Assuming you placed the registration file in the main installation directory of the current software version, you are all set to start the software. Upon launching a licensed program, it will read the registration file and process its contents to finish the procedure.
However, if the screen shown here is displayed instead, the program you started is telling you it cannot find the registration file. You can use the 'Click to browse' button on the right to summon a dialog box that will let you locate the file on your computer. The registration process will not be complete until the program can successfully read and process the file downloaded from the web server.
