Combined Cycle Power Plant with Multi-stage Flash (MSF) Desalination

Combined power and desalination plant generates 100 million imperial gallons per day (100 MIGD) desalinated water and 1390 MW electricity.  Plant designed for Middle East ambient and seawater conditions where gas turbines and boilers burn light distillate oil as primary fuel.  Power plant consists of five advanced technology gas turbines rated at 266 MW, and two back pressure steam turbines rated at 215 MW.  Steam turbine exhaust feeds heat to the topping heater in the multi-stage flash (MSF) desalination plant comprised of seven 14.3 MIGD units with a gain output ratio (GOR) of 8.6.
